Used it for Babolat Pure strike found it not lively compared to the Technifibre racquet!
I Needed a comfortable string with a firm enough feel without feeling Mushy. These strings fit the bill perfectly on my Yonex ezones 100's. I string at 54/52 and dominate my league competition. I am a 4.5 player who loves the perfect combination of spin, comfortability, and power which makes me feel so connected to the ball.
Well done Ytex, great String!!!
I've sampled most of the YTex line of polyester strings and Penta Power Twisted has to be my favorite one so far. It has a slightly crisper feel than the other strings which I prefer in my Yonex VCore 95 racquets (strung at 45/43 on an electronic constant pull machine). It provides a clean response and impact feel while also allowing for exceptional spin generation. I'm able to hit heavy shots from the baseline while also using spin to create short-angle shots from the mid-court. It also handles touch and finesse shots beautifully. Durability has also proven to be great as I'm easily getting over 12 hours of hitting from each stringing.
This is definitely one of the better poly strings on the market at the time and I would highly recommend it.
The folks that I have strong the rackets with the pinto power twist say they will never change and that’s a bunch. They really like it
I just finished a practice session and practice set of singles with this string in a Blade 98 v7 18x20. I found it’s comfort and control to be unmatched. It was spinny enough. It required a little break in, thus the hitting session prior to competitive use. If you are looking for a full bed of poly loaded with control and comfort...look here.
I strung my new Diadem Elevate 98 and customer’s Wilson Prostaff 97 with PentaPower Twisted at 48 lbs. Both my customer and I are very happy with this string. It has a lots of pop and good spin. It will not hurt your arm. This is one of my favorite strings from YTEX. #teamytex
The Penta Power Twisted Black at 48 pounds is what I use for my mains. The power and spin I am able to generate continues to surprise me.
I really like the spin generated with this string. It is soft enough to be very easy on the elbow.

Tried ytex on a whim when I heard about square x sharp. Thought it would be a novelty and I'd be back to searching around to find something that would fit my needs and protect my elbow. Immediately noticed a difference. Play tested several others but their flagship ended up checking all the boxes for me. I string an ezone 100 with a full bed of quadro twist black at 48lbs. Spin generation and power with full cuts from the baseline have helped my rally depth tremendously. First serves still pop, but my confidence with kick and slider has gone through the roof. Anyone looking to get into the brand should start here and see what it does for them!
With Twist Purple in my other racquet, Head Exteme MP, I strung Hexagon Red as a cross (40 lbs) to Square X Sharp (42), and along with Purple, found it superior to the smooth poly Protour as a hybrid cross. Whereas Purple seemed to exceed Red in power, durability and control, Red did enhance the spin. The full bed is good, but try it in a hybrid, even as a cross!
On a dare from a YTex FB colleague, I tried Hexagon Red, and while I was at it, strung Twisted Purple in my other racquet, Head Extreme MP, as the cross to the mains of Square X Sharp, 42 in mains, 40 in crosses. It beat Hexagon in durability, power, and control. And yes, beat the smooth polys, Protour, in performance. No doubt it has its market as a full bed, or even main, but consider it as a hybrid cross!
My favorite feature of Protour Blue is the softness. There are very few copolys that I can use without hurting my arm. At the same time Protour Blue provides some additional spin in my hybrid with gut.
I was looking to soften my string bed a bit more as well as trying to increase the snapback of my strings. By adding Pro Tour to the crosses with Quadro Twist in the mains, I feel like the strings still grab the ball since QT is in the mains, but I believe I increased my spin due to the better snapback of the strings now that a smooth poly is in the mains. It also made the overall feel more plush, which is what I was after. I'm very happy with this hybrid and will be using it going forward. I string the mains at 48 and crosses at 46.
I have a small and it just barely adjusts small enough but it is very lightweight and comfortable.
I use Protour as a cross with Square X as the main. Gives me plenty of spin and pop on the ball
